IndeVets has expanded at the executive level, hiring for 3 new positions

IndeVets, Veterinarian staffing company IndeVets has expanded its executive leadership team to include 3 new roles. Nico Westerdale, chief technology officer (CTO); Alex Ruiz, senior vice president of finance; and Dave Johnson, senior vice president of growth; were recently hired to fill the new positions for the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania-based company.1

According to IndeVets, the company hires veterinarians who are looking for a new way to do what they love without burning out. It provides to veterinarians a choice of flexible hours, multiple clinics to practice in, market-leading pay, and robust benefits. Through stable relief work, the company aims to have happy, healthy professionals performing at their best while delivering care to animals.1

“Each of our new executives brings a depth of expertise that will round out our team and contribute significantly to our ongoing growth and mission to bring balance, joy and fulfillment to the practice of veterinary medicine,” said Michael Raphael, president and CEO of IndeVets, in a news release.1 The addition of Westerdale, Ruiz, and Johnson bring the executive leadership to 7 members.2

Prior to joining IndeVets, Westerdale worked as a fractional CTO for IndeVets, building the software engineering team for 2 years and leading the development of the company’s proprietary technology, before joining full time. Previously, Westerdale led the consumer product engineering teams at Gopuff as well as drive technology for several successful start-ups.1Ruiz was the chief financial officer and treasurer for Talivity before arriving at IndeVets. He is also a former chief financial officer for Onward Search.1

Johnson previously served as senior vice president of national sales at Randstad USA. He has also held leadership positions at TIVA HealthCare, Inc, Medical Doctor Associates, and Maxim Healthcare Services.1

IndeVets was created in 2017 by Raphael and Andrew Heller, DVM.2 It now operates with more than 4000 partner hospitals in 34 states.1,2
