Tips for Successful Telephone Interviews

Telephone interviews are the first step to having a face-to-face interface with a potential employer. Gary Vroegindewry, DVM, MSS, DACVPM, director of One Health at Lincoln Memorial University, gives tips for having successful telephone interviews.

Even though you may be on the phone, make sure to dress as though you're going to a live interview. You'll want to get rid of any distractions — such as doorbells, pets or kids — and make sure you have your resume in front of you for reference.
