Vet-Kem introduces its new Tickaway' tick collar for dogs. The Tickawaycollar kills ticks, including those that may carry Lyme disease and RockyMountain spotted fever. The collar effectively kills adult ticks and fleasfor up to five months. Temporary exposure to water will not reduce the collar'seffectiveness, and one size fits all dogs, the company says. The collar'sactive ingredient is Propoxur, a carbamate insecticide that causes an insect'snerve junctions to become over-stimulated, resulting in death of the insect.
