One study found that 67 percent of employees whose managers supplied them with positive feedback were fully engaged in their jobs, and only 31 percent of employees were fully engaged in their jobs when their managers only provided them with negative — or corrective — feedback.

There are things you can do as a leader to give great positive feedback to your team, Dr. Hauser says. First, be aware of your non-verbal communication, because 93 percent of communication today is non-verbal. Second, catch your employees at their best, and seek out the things you may take for granted in their daily performance.
