Resources to keep pet owners from vanishing from your veterinary practice

Article

Use these client education and team training tools to keep pet owners from vanishing from your veterinary practice.

To educate clients about their pets' health, Steve Dale, CABC, says it's important to offer pet owners credible resources to understand different conditions. For example, the Winn Feline Foundation page offers cat health information on a variety of topics, from Asthma to Zoonoses.

To help get cats to the veterinarian safely, consider referring clients to the AAFP handout, "Getting Your Cat to the Veterinarian" and the CATalyst Council video on carrier transport.

Finally, to prepare team members to educate pet owners about important healthcare topics, use the free toolboxes at Partners for Healthy Pets.
