Acres Animal Hospital in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, relies on hot-water bottles to help provide comfort to patients. "To help keep the bottles clean and provide a soft surface to snuggle up to, we cover our hot-water bottles with recycled cloth—the legs cut off of old fleece sweatpants," says owner Dr. Laura Lee. "These easily washed covers are the perfect shape, and we have an ongoing, free supply from employees' old clothes. Recycling at its best!"
