Merial rounds out its rabies vaccine line with the launch of IMRAB1 TF, a one-year, thimerosal-free (TF) vaccine for dogs and cats. IMRAB 1 TF offers veterinarians the option of using a single-dose rabies vaccine without the thimerosal additive used to reduce contamination from repeated needle entries in multi-dose vials.Veterinarians can choose from Merials complete rabies vaccine line, which includes one- and three-year vaccines with and without thimerosal. All states, except for Mississippi, which requires three-year rabies vaccinations, have approved the new product, the company says.Merial is responding to the needs of veterinary professionals looking for alternatives to vaccine additives, says Dr. Zack Mills, executive director of veterinary services for Merial. The product is available as a single dose in 50 x 1 packaging.
