Questions to Ask Before Buying Pet Food

Martha Cline, DVM, DACVN, clinical veterinary nutritionist at Red Bank Hospital in New Jersey, points out that a lot of the things about good quality pet food often cannot be found on its label.

As Dr. Cline explains, the World Small Animal Veterinary Association provides a list of questions that pet owners can ask themselves before marking a pet food purchase. Examples include: “Is the company able to provide a complete nutrient analysis?” and, “Are animal scientists employed by the pet food company?"
