Getting into doggy daycare requires pet owners to jump through more than a few hoops, and it's getting tougher according to a recent article in The Wall Street Journal. "They are instituting rigorous admissions standards as they strive to put together classes or play groups of well-behaved animals that don't growl, nip, or bite," says the article, which describes the common application process as including a several page dog personality profile, an interview, and a full-day peer session, during which the dog interacts with other dogs.

High-end doggy daycare also isn't cheap; providers can charge more than $30 a day, twice the average cost of boarding, according to the article. The daycare providers described in the article turn down about 50 percent of applicants.
