SCHAUMBURG, ILL. — Annual primary premiums for the Professional Liability and Insurance Trust (PLIT)-sponsored liability insurance program increased 5 percent for the 2008 policy year.
The trust, tied to the American Veterinary Medical Association, did not raise premiums for excess liability, veterinary license defense and professional extension coverages.
More than 51,500 veterinarians are protected by PLIT's malpractice insurance, and interest in the trust's veterinary license defense coverage continues to grow, representatives say.
