PetMeds partners with Pumpkin Insurance to make pet care easier and more affordable

PetMed Express, Inc, has shared that its customers now have direct access to pet insurance plans and optional preventive care coverage for an additional cost through its partnership with Pumpkin Insurance Services Inc.¹

A 2023 MarketWatch survey² found 33% of pet owners without insurance report that they've avoided taking their pet to the veterinarian because they were unable to afford an expensive bill compared to just 22% of pet insurance holders. Additionally, roughly 16% of pet parents reporting losing a pet because they couldn’t afford veterinary care.

Through Pumpkin's comprehensive, affordable pet insurance plans, PetMeds customers can access reliable accident & illness coverage by simply going to PetMeds’ website. The integration enables existing PetMeds customers to have their pet's history, veterinarian information, and other key information instantly connected to their insurance research and quote.

Customers can receive reimbursement for 90% of all eligible vet bills when they enroll in a Pumpkin Pet Insurance plan.¹ Pet parents can also include Preventive Essentials, Pumpkin's wellness package created with veterinarians. This optional benefit is not insurance, but it can be added to their Pumpkin insurance plan to receive refunds for early diagnostics and preventive care for their dogs and cats. Pumpkin Pet Insurance plans and Preventive Essentials wellness packages can be used at any veterinarian in the US or Canada.
