Osborne Industries Inc. and Swine Management Services LLC (SMS) jointly announce a new cooperative agreement between the two companies to provide an offer to users of Porcode® and TEAM® electronic sow feeding and electronic estrous detection system. These Osborne customers can enroll with SMS in a limited program called Swine Smartâ¢to compare the performance of their sows with the others in the extensive SMS database.
By enrolling in the program, they can compare their results using automated sow management with those who use conventional crates or alternative small group sow management methods.
"SMS comparisons will enable us to isolate and identify key areas of success across all Porcode and TEAM users. Better sow conditions and quicker returns to estrus are some of the advantages because of the past 10 years of testing," the company says.
Swine Smart⢠software, created by SMS, extracts key production indicators (KPIs) from Porcode and TEAM program records and from other management programs. SMS creates production reports and control charts from the KPIs using NPPC Production and Financial Standards.
