Addison Biological Laboratory, Inc. announces the launch of a new, internationally patented companion animal ear care formula, Maxi/Guard Zn 4.5 Otic. Maxi/Guard Zn 4.5 Otic provides veterinary medicine with its first complexed zinc ear topical for otitis externa. The patented formula, developed at the University of Missouri Health Sciences Center in Columbia, Mo., delivers the essential micronutrient zinc, complexed with select amino acids and the proven malassezia agent, boric acid. Active ingredients are delivered in a well-tolerated propylene glycol vehicle at pH 4.5. Zinc, an essential catalyst for more than 200 cellular metalloenzymes, encourages healing of wounded epithelium by restoring integrity of natural defense mechanisms (barrier, protein production, cellular division, enzyme action, immunity). Maxi/Guard Zn 4.5 Otic is recommended for stand alone problem ear treatment and maintenance following proper cleaning.
