Amanda Landis-Hanna, DVM, senior manager of veterinary outreach for PetSmart Charities, talks about statistics regarding new veterinary graduates.

According to the American Veterinary Medical Association, 40 percent of graduates 0 to 9 years out of veterinary school said they may not consider going into veterinary medicine due to the difference between their student debt load and their starting salary.
