A new feline diet from Purina ONE uses the NutraSorb system with patent-pending technology to reduce the formation of hairballs. The new Advanced Nutrition Hairball Control formula from Purinas Special Care cat food uses a soy lecithin emulsifier and more than one-third less fiber than typical high-fiber hairball control diets, the company says.The soy lecithin emulsifier promotes interaction of fats and water, allowing the fat to disperse in the water/liquid environment of the stomach, Nestl Purina says. The fat dispersal acts to break up the hairball, enabling the hair to pass through the cats gastrointestinal tract.
