"My neighbor poisoned my dog" syndrome
Don't be so quick to blame the neighbors! Poisoning is often due to another source.

Although clients often think a pet’s toxicosis stems from a nasty neighbor, most often the poisoning is due to a toxic agent from another source, says Patricia Talcott, DVM, PhD, DABVT. At the CVC in Washington, D.C., Dr. Talcott shared case reports of toxicoses due to chocolate, mushrooms, the rodenticide fluoroacetate, and xylitol.
