“If you’re concerned that your dog is truly choking, you can actually do the Heimlich maneuver, just like in people. With dogs, typically, if it’s a small dog you can turn him upside down [and] if it’s a larger dog, you lift the hind end and you push right behind the ribcage, sharp and quick, just like you do with people.”
