Meadows honored with Bustad Award

Schaumburg, Ill. - Dr. Richard Meadows received the Leo K. Bustad Companion Animal Veterinarian of the Year Award.

SCHAUMBURG, ILL. — Dr. Richard Meadows received the Leo K. Bustad Companion Animal Veterinarian of the Year Award.

The award recognizes exemplary work in protecting human-animal relationships. Established by Hill's Pet Nutrition Inc. with the Delta Society and the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), the award recognizes Meadows' work in creating and directing Helping Overpopulation Through Education (HOPE), a volunteer-facilitated spay-neuter program.

At the University of Missouri, Meadows serves as a faculty adviser for the student chapters of the AVMA and the American Animal Hospital Association and Pets are Loving Support. A diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners, Meadows serves on the board of directors of the American Association of Human-Animal Bond Veterinarians.
