In this dvm360® interview, Fetch Charlotte faculty member Natalie Marks, DVM, CVJ, describes the key role the general practitioner can play when confronted with canine mitral valve disease.

The following is a partial transcript of the video.

Natalie Marks, DVM, CVJ: We have a big part in educating our clients appropriately and also learning about the latest and greatest new techniques and treatments, according to those cardiovascular guidelines that have been put together by experts in the field, so that we're really making sure to do the best that we can, again from that very first visit, that very first discussion and knowing that we play a huge role in the success of that patient.
