Summit Hill Laboratories introduces a second-generation diode laser, the Vetroson Diode Laser. At 13 pounds, its lightweight and more user friendly due to the computerized guided program provided, the company says. As opposed to CO2-style laser, the Vetroson Diode Laser cuts, utilizing flexible fibers that will pass through any endoscope. It may be used in contact with the surgical field or non-contact. The hand piece may be combined with a choice of malleable or disposable plastic tips that can be bent to reach surgery sites inaccessible to CO2 lasers, the company says.
