Idexx Laboratories, Inc. introduces its new and improved Snap® HeartwormAntigen test, an in-clinic test that screens dogs for the presence of heartwormantigens. The Idexx test is the only in-clinic, single pet-side test touse proven Elisa technology in the industry's most effective screen fordetecting low worm burdens, the company says. The Snap Heartworm Antigentest combines even greater sensitivity than the previous version with theconvenience of room temperature storage, the company says. More than 15million dogs are tested for heartworm disease every year.
