A tip to momentarily distract a cat in order to quickly retrieve an item from its cage.

When it's necessary to momentarily distract a fractious cat in order to quickly retrieve an item from its cage, such as a food bowl or litter pan, I use a positive method of diverting the cat's attention such as offering a food treat or toy or beaming a laser pointer.
