Idea Exchange: Relieve the pressure on paralyzed pets
Animals that are recumbent or paralyzed for extended periods can develop pressure sores.
Animals that are recumbent or paralyzed for extended periods can develop pressure sores. To combat this, we use inflatable children's swimming pool flotation toys as air mattresses. The flotation toys are inexpensive, easy-to-clean, and small enough to fit into most cages or runs. Clients can use these toys at home, as well, for pets with prolonged recovery periods. Clients will appreciate that their pets are comfortable and that they don't have to wash or replace comforters or pillows.
