Heart + Paw launches new walk-ins service at Callowhill location

March 23, 2022

SAP Partners | Heart + Paw

Now offering more walk-in urgent care

PHILADELPHIA, PA (March 23, 2022) – Heart + Paw, one of the fastest growing veterinary care, grooming, and dog daycare center groups in the country, announces that it is now welcoming walk-in veterinary visits for more urgent needs at its Callowhill location. Starting March 14, 2022, Heart + Paw became the only veterinary general practice in Center City to accept walk-ins.

Every pet parent knows it can be difficult to get same-day non-emergency appointments for things like ear infections, vomiting, allergic reaction, etc. While an option is to go to a pet ER, it can be very costly and often it is not required for these less severe situations.

A walk-in visit provides access to a diagnosis, treatment and medications in the same day. Heart + Paw recognizes that our pets are part of our family, and by providing a much-desired service to pet parents in the local community, we ensure our pets have access to top quality healthcare more immediately instead of waiting to book an appointment.

“We are so excited to be welcoming walk-ins at our Callowhill location,” said Callowhill Partner Doctor, Dr. Amber Karwacki. “At Heart + Paw we think it’s important to be available in timely situations. This is the kind of flexibility and service that our pet families deserve.”

Heart + Paw Callowhill is open Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. and Saturday 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. with walk-ins welcome at any time. Walk-ins will be seen as soon as possible, but will be prioritized based on the order of arrival, plus the urgency of the condition of the pet, so wait times may vary. All pet parents in the Philadelphia community are welcome to use this service, whether they have previously visited a Heart + Paw location or not.

At Heart + Paw, pet parents can utilize the center’s courtyard area and high-speed internet to get work done or relax while their pet is being cared for. Pet parents are also invited into the examination rooms with their pets to encourage full transparency and a low-stress visit for all. Heart + Paw’s belief is that partnering with the pet parent lends itself to the best possible care for every pet.

Open 10 hours a day Monday through Friday with hours extended into the weekend, Heart + Paw Callowhill meets all of your pet’s needs in one place and gives pet parents even more access to urgent care when it is needed most. In addition to walk-in visits, Dr. Karwacki and her talented team provide wellness and preventive care, surgery, complete dental care, and cutting-edge diagnostics, along with pet grooming. Pet parents can book care and style appointments as well as shop pharmacy and nutrition delivery with ease on the Callowhill website.

Dr. Karwacki received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Oklahoma State University. After graduating, she practiced in private and corporate practice for nearly 15 years and worked with a guide dog school as well. Dr. Karwacki’s clinical interests include surgery, behavior, and ophthalmology.

About Hear + Paw

Founded in 2018, Heart + Paw is now one of the fastest growing veterinary care, grooming, and dog daycare center groups in the country, with a mission to become partners in pet parenthood, helping four-legged family members to live a longer, healthier, and happier life while also addressing the health, wealth and mental well-being of those that serve this community.
