Haiti's unrest
The Animal Relief Coalition of Haiti (ARCH) mobilized within days of the earthquake to gather veterinary supplies. This photo package shows the effort made on behalf of animals after the disaster.

A dog roams the streets of Port au Prince after Jan. 12's 7.0 earthquake. Volunteers say many animals seemed fearful after the earthquake, and many were undernourished and showed signs of injury or disease. More than 500,000 dogs are believed to reside in the country.
