Nestle Purina Petcare introduces Purina Veterinary Diagnostics Glucotest brand feline urinary glucose detection system.The product is a litter additive designed to help owners of diabetic cats tell at a glance whether their pets urine glucose levels are within an acceptable range using color-changing technology. When mixed with dry litter, Glucotest indicator pieces are buff colored, meaning glucose levels are safe. At more dangerous levels, Glucotest indicator pieces turn dark brown or purple, the company says. One packet of Glucotest added to normal dry litter will provide up to five days of accurate color indication, after which the litter should be changed completely, the company adds.
