The Force is strong in these pets

December 18, 2015

#NoSpoilers in this Star Wars-themed patient names from Banfield.

Those might not be the droids you're looking for, but these are definitely the patients you're looking for.

Banfield Pet Hospital has released its list of pet names inspired by the “Star Wars” franchise and gathered from its database of more than 2 million patients to find out which names were most popular, according to a hospital release. The search, conducted by the hospital's internal research team, turned up nearly 25,000 pets with names related to the films.

> Topping the list? Everyone's favorite Wookiee-Chewy (We know, we know, it's spelled wrong.)-the namesake of almost 3,500 cats and dogs.

> Four out of the top five names are Rebels, but No. 5 invoked the dark side hero-turned-villain: Vader.

> Even Jar Jar Binks had some fans among Banfield's clients-“Meesa SO HAPPY to HEAR it!”-with 17 patients named Jar Jar on the list.

Star Wars fever at Banfield didn't stop with clients, however-several associates named their pets after the characters as well, including pups named Yoda and Solo and a gecko named Luke Skywalker.

The full list is below.

Editor's Note: “OMG! So, can you believe that last scene in The Force Awakens when-” We're kidding. May the Force be with you.
