ANGELO, TEXAS — Dr. Wendi Mae Davidson, 28, was sentenced to 25 years in prison last month after pleading no contest to charges she murdered her husband, Dyess Air Force Base Staff Sgt. Michael Leslie Severance.

The plea agreement stipulated that Davidson would be sentenced to 25 years on a murder charge and 10 years each on two evidence-tampering charges. Because the agreement allows the sentences to run concurrently, Davidson will be eligible for parole in 2019, court records show.

Autopsy records reveal Severance, 24, was poisoned Jan. 15, 2005, with euthanasia drugs and stabbed 41 times. His body was found in March 2005 weighted down in a pond.

Davidson was owner of Advanced Animal Care in San Angelo and a 2002 graduate of Texas A&M University's veterinary college.
