Dogness enters protective cold weather pet apparel market

Helps address need to keep pets safe amid cold weather in Europe

Dogness International Corporation, a developer and manufacturer of a comprehensive line of Dogness-branded, OEM/ODM and private label pet products, has extended its line into protective cold weather pet apparel.

According to a company release,1 the first shipment was made to address the urgent call from one of the Company's German based customers, which had purchased Dogness products before, including collars and leashes. The elevated utility price in the European Union (EU) is making this winter particularly challenging for pets and their owners.

Each year many pet deaths and rescues occur surrounding cold weather dangers.1 Dogs with both short and thick coats can suffer from hypothermia, difficulty breathing, heart rate slowing, and potential death as pets typically kept inside are not acclimated to longer-term exposure to the cold. Every breed handles cold weather in different ways, with some factors including leg length and weight. Chemicals used to de-ice the roads and salt also can be harmful to sensitive areas of the dog, such as its paw pads.

"We are proud to be expanding into the cold weather pet apparel segment. Nothing is sadder than the loss of a loved pet that could have been prevented. It is normal to see a pet's thick coat and think it is ok to brave cold temperatures. We would never think of going out for a walk in a bathing suit in the snow, and we shouldn't let our pets suffer on their winter walks either. Just like humans, dogs need protection,” expressed Silong Chen, chairman and chief executive officer of Dogness, in the release.1 “Our team applied the same level of urgency and innovation to developing our pet apparel as we do with all Dogness products.”

He added that they use high-tech fabrics and a sleek design to offer stylish comfort and protection from the cold, and shared the goal is to help pet owners ensure their furry best friends stay safe while having fun in the cold weather and snow.
