There are a lot of new materials that can be used for dog housing, says Greg Taylor, CEO of the Mason Company. For example, tempered glass continues to rise in popularity. But Taylor warns veterinarians to stay away from acrylics, which are actually a plastic material that yellows and is susceptible to scratches.

He also reviews some of the other readily available materials that have recently become available for side panels and seals.
