Exodus equine paste with pyrantel pamoate is available for deworming horses and ponies. The paste, manufactured by Bimeda, Inc., has an apple flavor for ease of administration. When used as directed, worm count studies have shown Exodus to be more than 90 percent effective against many major equine worm infestations, the company says. The product is indicated for the control and removal of large strongyles (Strongylus vulgaris, S. endentatus, S. equinus); small strongyles; pinworms (Oxyuris equi); and large roundworms (Parascaris equorum).Each milliliter of Exodus paste contains 171 milligrams pyrantel base as pyrantel pamoate and is supplied in syringes containing 3.6 grams pyrantel base in 23.6 grams apple-flavored paste.
