D.A.P. Collar

July 1, 2006

Veterinary Products Laboratories offers its Dog Appeasing Pheromone (D.A.P.?) in a collar form.

Veterinary Products Laboratories offers its Dog Appeasing Pheromone (D.A.P.®) in a collar form.

The new D.A.P. Collar is the first-of-its-kind and offers continual release of the same natural appeasing pheromone emitted by mother dogs to calm and reassure their puppies, the company says.

Activated by the dog's body heat, the D.A.P. Collar releases pheromone over four weeks, making it an ideal way for owners to help control stress-related behavior, as well as to help socialize the animal with other dogs.

The D.A.P. Collar is available in puppy/small-dog size that fits necks up to 15 inches, and the medium/large dog collar fits necks up to 25 inches.

Excess collar can be trimmed with no loss of efficacy.

The pheromone in the D.A.P. Collar reduces or stops undesirable behavior related to stress in most dogs, the company says. The pheromones are undetected by people and are safe and non-toxic to people and animals.
