To reduce crowding in our surgery room, we have eliminated IV poles by attaching our IV pumps to 24-inch knurled (textured) grab bars. We've found that at least 3 inches of wall clearance is sufficient to place an array of different pumps. In our dental suite, we have two pumps on one grab bar, so we can run a CRI if needed.
