Cost Differential Between Cancer Drugs for Humans and Pets

Chad Johannes, DVM, DACVIM (SAIM, Oncology), assistant professor of veterinary clinical sciences at Iowa State University, explains why there's such a huge cost differential between therapeutics for people with cancer and pets with cancer.

Part of the differential is insurance coverage, because the majority of pet owners don't have pet health insurance, but another part corresponds to the cost of drug development.
