"Cinco de Meow": Because Cats Are Better Than Tequila

Lucky Paws and Tails From The City — two cat rescues in Cleveland, Ohio — are joining forces for the second year in a row to put on their annual Cinco de Meow fundraiser. All proceeds from the May 5 event will go toward the two rescues.

Animal Care Services in San Antonio, Texas is holding a Cinco de Meow cat adopt-a-thon on May 5, with a $5 adoption special for all cats and kittens.

Friends of Cats in El Cajon, California is holding a huge Cinco de Meow event on May 6 complete with a buffet, cat boutique, shelter tours, kitten races, a raffle and more.

The Virginia Beach SPCA is celebrating Cinco de Meow (and Bow-Wow) from May 5 through 10, with $5 small animal adoptions and $55 adoption fees for select dogs and cats.
