ALACHUA, FLA. –– A practice manager program through the Veterinary Hospital Managers Association (VHMA) earned accreditation from the National Organization for Competency Assurance (NOCA).

VHMA's Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM) certification program is now accredited through the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA), the accreditation commission of the NOCA.

CVPM was deemed compliant with NCCA professional competency standards after a detailed review of the program's administrative procedures, job analysis, test development, test security, standard setting, eligibility criteria, board responsibilities, ongoing review of all policies and procedures, verification of reliability and validity of the credential.

"As managers, we are aware of the uphill struggle to receive recognition for the profession to which we dedicate our lives," VHMA says in a statement about the accreditation. "It is with great pleasure that we share this honor with all the veterinary practice managers who have contributed to the development of the CVPM credential."
