Good idea. Based on the sensitivity testing results and the fact that we know fluoroquinolones can reach good concentrations in the urine, marbofloxacin is a great choice. The MIC for this organism is 1, which is within the breakpoint range (as opposed to below it), but because it is only one dilution from the susceptible breakpoint, it is considered susceptible. You will want to see Coco again in a week and would expect improvement in her clinical signs and urinalysis results at that time. If Coco does not improve, then you may need to reconsider the treatment plan.
