The Rescue Critters manikin allows students to practice skills on canine respiration. Rescue Critters LLC and Pinnacle Technology Group Inc. have worked together to make available the Breath Sound Simulator for the Jerry line of manikins.

Utilizing plug-in modules, instructors can select the appropriate scenario for the classroom situation.

The unit includes four sounders directly installed in any of the Jerry manikins. This allows students to auscultate with a stethoscope to hear the sounds, the company says.

All data used is actual patient sounds provided by plug-in modules. The unit has two lights that illuminate during expiration. Virtually maintenance-free, the unit is powered by a 9-volt battery and comes with a limited warranty.

Breath sounds include tracheal, vesicular, broncho-vesicular, wheezes, monophonic wheeze, pleural friction rub, stridor, cavernous, crackles, pulmonary edema and puppy.

The kit includes Tutor MS, breath-sound module, four installed custom speakers and one 9-volt battery.

The Breath Sound Simulator can be installed in any previously purchased Jerry line of manikins.

Manikins other than the canine model are capable of having the respiration simulator installed.
