Bravo recalls dog and cat food brands for possible Salmonella contamination

Select lots of Bravo brand turkey and chicken pet foods for dogs and cats have been recalled due to possible Salmonella contamination. The recall was initiated after routine testing by the Nebraska Department of Agriculture revealed the presence of Salmonella in two lots of Raw Food Diet Bravo! Turkey Blend for dogs and cats (product number: 31-102) and Bravo! Blends All Natural Chicken Blend diet for dogs and cats (product number: 21-102).

The recalled products were distributed nationwide beginning Nov. 14, 2013, to distributors, retail stores, Internet retailers and directly to consumers. Bravo's voluntary recall also extends to two other lots manufactured in the same facility or on the same day as the products that tested positive: Premium Turkey Formula Bravo Balance Raw Diet (product number 31-405) and Bravo! Blends All Natural Chicken Blend diet for dogs and cats (product number 21-105).

In addition, all sizes (2-, 5-, and 10-pound bags) of Bravo Chicken Blend(s), Bravo Turkey Blend(s), Bravo Balance Chicken Balance and Bravo Balance Premium Turkey Formula frozen raw diet products with best-used by dates between June 20, 2016, and September 18, 2016, have been withdrawn from the marketplace. Bravo says this was done out of an abundance of caution even though none of these products are known to have tested positive for the presence of pathogens.

Customers who have purchased the recalled pet food can return it to the store where it was purchased and submit the product recall claim form available at bravopetfoods.com for a full refund or store credit.
