Bond Vet provides 100% paid healthcare to its whole team

The company is making strides in the veterinary industry by wholeheartedly supporting its staff's well-being.

Bond Vet has recently made history by becoming the first veterinary company in New York City to offer its team 100% paid healthcare with the intent of fostering more sustainability and longevity in the veterinary field.

While the animal health industry primarily focuses on caring for pets, Bond Vet is taking the appropriate measures to ensure its staff is also cared for. According to a company release, the industry is notorious for high rates of burnout and suicide, and with the rise in pet ownership, veterinary professionals must have access to health and mental care to maintain a successful and impactful career.

“Having worked in many different clinics, I’ve seen firsthand how important team member experience is,” said Zay Satchu, DVM, cofounder and chief veterinary officer of Bond Vet, in the release.

“At Bond Vet, we’re creating a first-of-its-kind environment, where we truly take care of our people, mentally, physically, and financially. Working in healthcare, it’s important to us that we have a truly healthy team and working environment, so offering 100% free healthcare was a no-brainer,” she added.

Additionally, because burnout plagues the veterinary profession with 0-1% unemployment rates of practitioners, the onus falls on employers to revamp and improve their benefits packages to attract and retain talent. Taking a holistic and meaningful approach to the benefits offerings remains a top priority for Bond Vet and upholds the company's core belief that "taking care of people helps them take better care of pets."
