Taking the BizQuiz? This is the answer to Question 5.
5) C—No way!
It’s good to be open, but we can all relate to a coworker (maybe it’s us sometimes?) who constantly complains about a spouse, kids, relatives, friends, money problems, yadda yadda yadda. You can’t have an upbeat, friendly, enthusiastic culture when team members can’t discuss personal information with clients or each other, according to Shawn McVey, MA, MSW, a Firstline Editorial Advisory Board member and CEO of Innovative Veterinary Management Solutions in Phoenix. But some people take it too far. If that’s you, it’s time to police yourself. Start by avoiding touchy topics, like sex, politics, or money, and then branch out into zipping your lip about team members’ familial or romantic relationships.
