WASHINGTON — In a move designed to "open doors" for the American Veterinary Medical Association, group leaders hired American Capitol Group to push the group's Washington agenda.

Billed as a "full-service government-relations firm," American Capitol Group is contracted to help AVMA's Governmental Relations Division strategize on veterinary-related measures, says Dr. Mark Lutschaunig, the division's director.
