Narda G. Robinson, DO, DVM, MS, FAAMA, president and CEO of CuraCore Integrative Medicine and Education Centers, says that in a 2005 study, it was discovered that over 75% of respondents were using some type of integrative therapy for their animal patients in the oncology service.

The interest in herbs and supplements is very high, Dr. Robinson adds. Veterinarians should use the educational opportunities available to them to educate clients and be proactive in steering them toward the safe usage of herbal medications and supplements, she says.
