By sending 2.5 mL of blood or serum, pets can be tested for 70 allergens. AlerChek can fax or mail the results to the veterinarian.

One of the allergens the service can detect is Malassezia dermatitis in canines that frequently cause yeast infections in the ear canal and on the skin of otherwise healthy dogs, the company says.
