The release is based on results from a study that examined the effect of treatment using ACell Vet Powder, suspended in sterile saline, for injuries in suspensory ligaments and superficial digital flexor tendons.Horses treated with ACell Vet Powder along with conventional therapy were able to return to 15 to 20 minutes of walker or treadmill walking and trotting in two to eight weeks without lameness, where horses treated with conventional therapy were limited to pasture rest in the same period. On ultrasound imaging, treatment areas exhibited lesion filling and remodeling of fibrous tissue after eight weeks for the group treated with ACell Vet Powder compared to the control group, which only exhibited lesion filling.ACell Vet Powder is supplied sterile in a screw-top septum vial for easy mixing with sterile saline.
