Dr. Horne, DVM, MS, earned his veterinary degree from Auburn University in 1959. He became a diplomat of ACVS in 1969. He served as a professor in the Department of Small Animal Surgery and Medicine at AU from 1971-1995, and as surgery section chief from 1965-1980. In 1995, Dr. Horne joined Tuskegee University, where he currently is head of the Department of Clinical Sciences in the College of Veterinary Medicine, Nursing and Allied Health. He is a noted lecturer and author.
