Patrick R. Gavin, DVM, Ph.D., Dipl. ACVR

Dr. Gavin received his veterinary degree from Washington State University (WSU) in 197I and then served in U.S. Army Veterinary Corps until 1974. He worked in private practice in Denver for two years. He completed his residency in radiology at Colorado State University in 1980. He also earned a Ph.D. in radiation biology and radiology at the same time. Dr. Gavin has been at WSU for the last 22 years, where he is a professor and former chair of Department of Clinical Sciences. He is a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Radiologists and began his work in MRI in 1986. He serves as a veterinary consultant to the Iams company and practices in Boston, Los Angeles, Detroit and Philadelphia reading about 2,000 MR cases per year.
