This online course discusses a problem-oriented approach to infectious diarrhea and several interesting cases that illustrate the diagnostic approach and common etiologies. After completing this course, you will be able to utilize a problem-oriented diagnostic approach in your diagnosis of infectious diarrhea; differentiate small- and large-bowel diarrhea; be familiar with a variety of diagnostic tests available, including fecal flotation by centrifugation, fecal ELISA tests, IDEXX RealPCR panels, fecal culture and rectal cytology; and be familiar with the Companion Animal Parasite Council (CAPC) guidelines.
