Online on-demand CE challenge: It's a simple fact that the inclusion of electrolytes on every biochemistry panel will add valuable information, yet practitioners commonly fail to include them. Unfortunately, many of us do not understand the importance of electrolytes. Determination of sodium, potassium, and chloride levels is necessary to accurately evaluate a patient’s electrolyte status and is critical for evaluating certain disorders. In addition, electrolyte levels can change in a matter of hours in sick animals and artifacts can occur during storage and transportation, so being able to monitor electrolytes "cage-side" is critical. (0.5 CE credits)
