Elizabeth Colleran, DVM, DABVP (Feline Practice): [Environmental enrichment and environmental modification] are both very different. Enrichment means that we're making [the environment] more cat-like. So we're understanding how cats think and what they need in their lives to have a fulfilling life [and are] able to act out their normal repertoire of behaviors.
